This past August, Disney’s D23 expo highlighted Disney’s plans for 2025 and beyond. While there were many amazing announcements about future movies and television plans, we focused on the new park and attraction announcements. But which ones are we most excited about? Here are some of our favorite park announcements.
A new home for Disney Villains
Walt Disney World grows with a new section, Villan’s Land in Magic Kingdom. This new area will feature Disney’s most fearsome and devious characters in two major attractions, as well as new restaurants, shopping experiences, and, of course, all the most evil characters from Disney lore. If you’ve ever wanted to walk on the dark side, Villain’s Land will be a must-see experience. We’re eagerly awaiting more news on this upcoming attraction!
Avengers assemble at a larger campus
Another fan-favorite announcement is the addition of two new attractions to the Avengers Campus in Disneyland. The first new attraction, Avengers Infinity Defense, allows riders to experience the superhero worlds of Asgard, Wakanda, New York City, and more, all while fighting Thanos himself! The second attraction, the Stark Flight Lab, will allow riders to become Iron Man himself with a simulated flight in two-person pods. Construction on these new attractions begins next year.
More Disney cruise ships
The Disney cruise experience is expanding with the announcement of four new ships between 2027 and 2031, bringing the fleet total to 13. We’re excited about this announcement because these cruise experiences are incredible for Disney fans. While we wait for the new ships to debut, some new shows and experiences will also debut next year. On the newest Disney ship, The Disney Destiny, a new exclusive Hercules show will run, and on the Disney Treasure, a new stage show, Disney The Tale of Moana, will debut and feature a 15-foot-tall puppet of Te Kā. We can’t wait to see these shows!
Disneyland’s 70th anniversary
Disneyland will be 70 years old next year! A big celebration is planned, but Disney didn’t share much at the Expo besides a logo to commemorate the milestone. We’ll keep you updated as more news comes in.
Stay tuned for the Disney Starlight Parade
A new night-time parade, Disney Starlight, will debut at Magic Kingdom in the summer of 2025! Disney Starlight will use cutting-edge technology to bring beloved characters to life, featuring favorites from Peter Pan, Encanto, and Frozen. Inspired by the legacy of the iconic Main Street Electrical Parade, this new show will reimagine nighttime magic as the Blue Fairy herself brings each float to life.
